Have you ever wondered where your fruit and veg and turkeys come from?
 
There is a lot of planning and work required to get the ingredients ready and delivered to you on time for your Christmas dinner.  For most of the festive vegetables and meat it takes almost 10 months (295 days, seven hours and 12 minutes to be exact) to get from the field to your fork.

Recent research discovered how many days and hours our Christmas meat and veg takes to grow in time for the most anticipated meal of the year.
While it takes our beloved seasonal veg and turkey ten months to grow, it takes us on average just over half an hour to polish the lot off.

Researchers also looked at how long it takes us in the UK and Ireland to scoff our turkey, all the trimmings and the obligatory festive pudding.  The results are very interesting indeed! Despite spending an average of three hours and 30 minutes shopping for the food (or 17 minutes online @ Seasonharvest.com) and three hours and 42 minutes cooking it – we wolf it down in 30 minutes and 44 seconds.

The quickest eaters in the UK were those surveyed from East Midlands, clearing their plates in 25 minutes flat. They even eat their dinner before the rest of the UK starting at 1:40pm compared to the average 2:25pm.
