Description
Sales Manager required to deliver significant sales and profit growth in the wholesale fruit & veg and contract sales.
Reporting to the MD the Sales Manager’s territory will be Northern Ireland, Donegal, Leitrim Cavan & Monaghan.
You'll be liaising with the procurement and telesales team. You will be responsible field sales throughout Northern Ireland and the border regions of Ireland with a focus on the wholesale, retail and catering sectors.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- FMCG experience essential (5 years minimum)
- Knowledge of the Fruit and veg sector
- Proven track record of results
- Proven exceptional people manager and team motivator
- Present a positive Company image to the public
- Ability to network both with internal and external teams.
Key Results Areas
- To develop a portfolio of customers within Northern Ireland and Ireland
- high calibre, high performing and cost effective retail, contract & merchandising team that is focused on the delivery of real sales and profit growth from existing & new customers.
- To identify customer needs and expectations and develop ways to meet these whilst maintaining a strong net margin return on the investment.
- To develop different strategies to grow sales and profit in each customer category (Retail, Catering & Contracts).
- To identify and meet key customers and work closely with them to protect and increase sales and profit.
- To be instrumental in setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time bound objectives in line with regional and company objectives.
- To develop and agree action plans which are in line with overall company goals.
- To agree a daily call plan in conjunction with internal sales person with objectives set for each call. The outcome of each customer call against the objectives and agreed follow up action is to be reported to the Managing Director.
- To refine and manage the company sales management and reporting system.
- To take direct responsibility and accountability for an agreed number of key accounts in the region.
- To facilitate one review meeting with the internal telesales each week. Consider the objectives for the month and performance against objectives. Agree objectives for the next month.
- To gather market intelligence and develop ways to implement best practice internally whilst finding ways to beat the competition.
Most Important Requirements
- Experience of leading a team of external sales professionals in a large area
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and listening skills, with a polite and friendly manner.
- A positive attitude to customers and colleagues.
- Proven track record of achieving success in sales
- Recent experience of selling in the FMCG products sector
