Job description
Manage a mixture of incoming and outgoing calls to existing customers. Provide customer feedback to both the Sales and Purchasing Managers.
Deliver the agreed minimum sales/profit growth target both on a monthly and annual basis.
Develop and grow the business within the existing customer bases, being alert to new sales opportunities, and always seeking to provide "best in class service", building a relationship with your customers based on trust and expertise.
Manage and motivate telesales team, training and developing scripts to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
Ensure administration procedures such as Customer Credits and collections are dealt with on the day issues are raised. Support and call customers / prospects outside of your regular portfolio.
Represent the company by way of building a relationship with the customers and prospects to keep them informed of new products and offers.
Develop new products with clients and in turn inform the rest of the team of any new products that may be of benefit to other customers.
Report sales figures and forecasts to Sales Manager on a weekly basis. Analyse the sales data provided to you on a monthly basis to set clear objectives for the following 4/5 weeks.
Agree weekly objectives with the Sales Manager to ensure all issues are being addressed or to follow up on any quotes or work that will generate additional business.
Monitor competitor activity to ensure minimum erosion in portfolio of accounts.
To prepare reviews and plans linked to growth of the business to present to the Sales Manager on agreed dates each month.
Build solid relationships with your colleagues within telesales and all other departments.
Support and attend internal activities such as stock take and out of normal hours sales meetings.
Desirable skills and experience
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and listening skills, with a polite and friendly manner.
- A positive attitude to customers and colleagues.
- Candidate will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to multi-task.
- Computer literate - knowledge of Excel, email systems will be needed.Any previous history of working closely with: field sales team, admin department, transport and accounts will be valuable.
- Candidate will be need to be comfortable with Maths, understanding profit margin, VAT and targets.
- Confident in sales and able to present to both internal and external customers at management level.Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience
- At least 3 years experience working in a sales environment, preferably telephone based.
- Proven experience of achieving targets in a competitive sales environment.
- Proven experience of prospecting and delivering for new business.
